The Lord was with Joseph, and he [even though a slave] became a successful and prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. Now his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to prosper (succeed) in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3 (AMP)

Today’s verse is such a beautiful one. It reveals the secret to achieving success and prosperity. If you want to be successful then this is the verse for. Success and prosperity is the end result of the presence of the Lord. Literally, the Lord was with Joseph and despite the fact that he was a slave became successful and prosperous.
Been a slave is one of the worst positions in life to be in, regardless, the Lord’s was with Joseph and He made Him successful. Let this encourage you today. No matter where you are today, regardless of your circumstance, you can rise up it and be successful. One thing you must always be conscious of is the Lord’s presence in your life. He is called Immanuel, God with us.

“I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” (Hebrews 13:5 AMP)

Joseph the slave would not remain a slave for long, the Lord been with him. The bible records that he captured the attention of his master, Potiphar. His master saw that the Lord was with him. Joseph’s life become an advertisement of the presence of the Lord, that captured the attention of his non believing master, a great leader, the Captain of the royal guard on- believers. Joseph’s life reminds me of Ephesians 1:29 …I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power.

Let this be our pray, that we are ever conscious that the LORD is faithful and He is always with us. That our lives reflect the LORD to others, that instead of us, the people around us see Him and they get to experience is immense power working through us. That through our lives, others can taste and see that the LORD is good, just like what happened between Potiphar and Joseph.
The Holy Spirit, author of the Bible goes on to reveal that the LORD caused all that Joseph did to prosper in his hand. This implies that despite the LORD’S presence, Joseph worked hard, he was not lazy. Because he was a slave, I can only imagine his to do list was tougher than most people today. Regardless, Joseph worked and the Lord prospered all that he did. This shows that the LORD’S presence in our lives, should not be justification for laziness. The bible is crystal clear about been lazy.

Poor is he who works with a negligent and idle hand, But the hand of the diligent makes him rich (Proverbs 10:6 AMP)

There is no doubt that Joseph was a diligent man, because the LORD prospered all that he did in his hand. Notice what he did with his hands preceded, the LORD prospering him. For God to prosper you, you first have to be working on something with your hands. If you do nothing He will have nothing to prosper. Be encouraged today that the Lord is with you. Always remember to be conscious of His presence, get your hands busy working and He will prosper you.

Meditate on:
• Hebrews 13:5
• Proverbs 10:6
• If you do nothing, the LORD will have nothing to prosper.
