Now Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him even more. Genesis 37:5 (AMP)
Wow!!! They hated him for having a dream?!! Truth be told, you are never more threatening to the enemy when you have a God given dream. Let me elaborate this. A dream or vision from God contains your hope and your future. Just like the Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11(AMP)
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.
Paul even prayed for new born believers that God would flood their eyes with the light of the Holy Spirit and reveal to them the hope or as I love to call it, the purpose to which He has called them to. I think we should all emulate Apostle Paul and pray the same prayer every day.
[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you... Ephesians 1:17-18 (AMP)
A God given dream is likened to a seed. The seed of everything is in itself. Your future is not ahead of you. Your future is in you. The future of everything is in the thing itself.
If I held out a passion seed and asked you, “What do you see in my hand?” you would say, “A passion seed.” That would be a fact but not the full truth. The truth is I have a tree in my hand. That is, in my hand is the seed of a tree. In my hand, is a passion seed with a passion tree that has passion fruits. In my hand is a passion seed with a passion tree that has passion fruits, full of passion seeds. You see a dream, but God says, “It is an orchard!” In my hand is a passion orchard.
One important truth to remember is that trees produce fruits not for their benefit but for the benefit of others. You never find a tree eating its own fruits, instead other people get to enjoy the delicious fruits from the tree through a myriad of ways these days, good examples include eating it, making a juice, a salad or a pie, garnishing a cake, taking amazing photos to be used in food advertisement, the list is endless. Regardless, the tree does not enjoy its fruits, it meant for the enjoyment of others. A God given dream is always for the benefit of others. God, however, reveals the parts that would entice us to pursue it, because of our immaturity.
Having in mind that each fruit, that is to be enjoyed, has a seed or two and we have already discussed the potential of a single seed. So it is completely up to the end consumer to sow the seed and cultivate it in order to actualize the seed’s potential to become an orchard.
The fruits produced is for the benefit of others. The seeds in the fruit are for future generations, however, this is entirely dependent on whether the person enjoying the fruits plants the seed and cultivates it or not.Dr. Myles Monroe
God hides the future of everything in itself. In every little boy or girl, God hides a great man or woman. This is was happened to Joseph when he dreamed, he actually saw the great man he would be and his brothers hated him even more for this. Having a dream or a vision is when the seed sees its own orchard.
This is why the enemy hates dreamers, he hates people who have discovered and seen the orchard, God has hidden within themselves because when dreamers achieve their dreams lives are changed for the better and future generations are saved and they still get to benefit from it. Dreamers change destiny of future generations in mighty ways, they are history makers and you, my friend are that. It is no wonder God ordained this moment before the beginning of time, that you would be reading this.
So instead of getting worried about not receiving support from your family or friends about achieving the dream that is burning in your heart or letting the hate and discouragement about your dream get to you. Remember, you are never alone the Lord is always with you and He is madly with you. You and Him are a majority and be encouraged with this:
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. ( Philippians 1:6)
• Your future is not ahead of you, it is in you and once you see it you have a dream.
• Your dream is for the benefit of others and future generations.
• Expect opposition with regard to your dreams. But strengthen yourself with the word in Philippians 1:6
